The deficiency of wastewater treatment

Currently 74% of India's wastewater goes untreated which results in the pollution of freshwater sources. This results in greater pressure on groundwater, and immense wastage of clean, potable water. In order to prevent this widespread pollution, the government has implemented more rigid zero liquid discharge laws for Effluent Treatment Plants. However, most corporations do not have the access to realistic solutions to meet these norms.


The Need for Better Measures:

Indra Water have created a decentralised solution in order to optimise wastewater management. They use an electrocoagulant(located in the heart of their decentralised machine) to make waste water management more efficient and affordable for MSME's. The systems used by Indra are completely automated which enables users to customize treated water output. Hence, Indra's solution provides an opportunity for MSME's to meet broader compliance norms.

  • Indra's system provides 40% lower lifecycle costs, a 75% reduction in land footprint, as well as a 95% greater recovery than a comparable ETP or STP solution and also has high operational efficiency which gives it a competitive advantage relative to other companies in the space.

  • The Indra system is also designed to treat poor quality wastewater streams, and the recycling of wastewater will result in lower demand for freshwater sources.
